Yuki’s parents have just divorced, and Yuki’s moved in with older sister Candy. Free of the mess of the divorce, Yuki tries to put it out of mind and start over in quaint, unexciting Windenburg. Not long after, their father announces he’s marrying a new woman. Candy swears her off, but Yuki decides to give her a chance, and discovers the woman’s hiding something. And that something changes Yuki’s life forever.
This was born of a rewrite of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves that I came up with some handful of years ago, in which the titular Snow White would be re-imagined as a vampire. She fits the descriptive criteria for one, so I thought that would be fun.
Yuki absorbed this idea and started to transform it slightly. Her name, Yuki, is Japanese for ‘snow,’ depending on what Kanji is used to write the name, so it sort of makes sense that she would take over this idea. The only thing that’d make her more suited to it is if she and Candy’s last name was Weiss!
