Character Cast
Prince Auris of House Irovaine

Name Pronunciation: ahr-iss ee-roh-vayn
Name Origins: Auris is loosely based on Latin aurea, which means golden ( the actual Latin name that roots from aurea would be Aura, Aurelia, and Aureus ). Irovaine is something I just bullocked, made to sound somewhat medieval European.
Age: 26
Gender: Somewhat fluid, he/him
Race: Human
Ethnicity: Viridian
Hair Colour: Black
Eye Colour: Indigo
Prince Auris is the only son of Emperor Lucian and Empress Nerissa, and thus the only heir to the throne of the Viridian Empire. He is calm in demeanour, but is known to have occasional outbursts if he feels strongly about a given topic. Empress Nerissa has suspected that he’s been sneaking out of the palace in recent years, but hasn’t been able to prove it. He was married to Autumn Snow merely for convenience; before their wedding, they’d never met before.
Autumn Snow

Name Pronunciation: aw-tum snoh
Name Origins: Autumn is the English word for one of the four seasons, when the leaves begin to change colours and the temperatures cool. Snow is the English word for the cold white wet stuff that falls from the sky P=
( This isn’t her real name… )
Age: 24
Gender: Female. She/her
Race: Human
Ethnicity: Viridian
Hair Colour: Black
Eye Colour: Grey-blue
One of the last ten wizards in the world, Autumn was taught magic by her mentor, who also arranged her marriage to Prince Auris. She is a woman of very few words, something most in the palace find somewhat intimidating, and though she is now Princess Autumn, she refuses to wear a crown, or even just dresses and jewels. Whatever she’s thinking at any given time, she keeps firmly behind her teeth and the sparkle of her eyes.
Empress Nerissa of House Mornaux
Name Pronunciation: nah-rih-sah mohr-nowh
Name Origins: Nerissa is a name Shakespeare invented, most likely from Greek nereis, sea nymph, ultimately from Nereus, from neros, water. Mornaux is semi-bullshat, it’s made to sound French and is similar to the noble French surname Morneau. The meaning of it seems to have been lost.
Age: 49
Gender: Female. She/her
Race: Human
Ethnicity: Viridian
Hair Colour: Black
Eye Colour: Green
Much like her son, Empress Nerissa is a calm and level-headed individual, but she is known to have something of a temper and will speak her mind without fear. She has a somewhat weaker constitution, in that she catches colds and varying other illnesses quite easily. It’s very common for her to spend only half the day awake and active and then the rest of it in bed.
Amias
Name Pronunciation: ah-mee-ahs. I think. I actually don’t really know.
Name Origins: Amias is one of the names of the prince of hell, Asmodeus ( Asmodai, Ashmedai, he has a few other names ). I do not know where exactly Amias comes from or what it means. If you ask a baby name site it’ll tell you it’s Latin and means loved and I think that’s probably bullshit.
Age: 55
Gender: Male. For the most part. He/him.
Race: Human
Ethnicity: Viridian
Hair Colour: Black
Eye Colour: Brown
The Empress’ closest adviser, and one of her protectors, Amias has been by Nerissa’s side since before Emperor Lucian passed away, and the gossip among the palace servants is that he harbours strong feelings for her. Who knows if they’re reciprocated? Though Amias is not himself a wizard, he has studied magic extensively and can counter a good deal of it. While he always has the Empire’s best interests in mind, he is known to be a little unscrupulous and occasionally downright ruthless.
Scylla
Name Pronunciation: skee-lah
Name Origins: Scylla is the name of a sea monster in Greek mythology, it means dogs.
Age: 46
Gender: Sorta female, sorta male, ehhh… she/her
Race: Human
Ethnicity: Viridian
Hair Colour: Red
Eye Colour: Brown
One of the two highest ranking military officials in the Viridian Empire, Scylla assists Amias in accomplishing his varying goals. She is a no-nonsense type, very strict in personality and typically very by the book, almost to a fault. Scylla very rarely bends, even when she should, but she is truly compassionate and cares for people.
Charydis
Name Pronunciation: kah-rih-diss. It’s actually meant to be spelled Charybdis ( would be kah-rihv-diss ), but I took the b out.
Name Origins: A name of another sea monster in Greek mythology, I think it has something to do with whirlpools. Scylla and Charybdis are companion monsters.
Age: 44
Gender: No, thank you; they/them
Race: Human
Ethnicity: Viridian
Hair Colour: Pale Blond
Eye Colour: Green
The other of the two highest ranking military officials in the Viridian Empire, Charydis is also an assistant to Amias. No one can tell if Charydis is male or female, and when asked, they simply shrug, because it really doesn’t matter. Charydis is unwaveringly loyal to Empress Nerissa, and will actively act against Amias if Nerissa bids Charydis do so. Charydis is very intelligent, but tends to keep observations and thoughts to themself.
