Notes: Vampires make really bad roommates, btw. Make sure yours has tamed thirst. Roommate toddlers will magically manifest sippy cups to save themselves from starvation but you can’t easily gift plasma fruit or whatever to a vampire roommate, and they don’t seem to take it if it’s sitting around, they tend to just, bite somebody.

If anyone is interested, I had a theory for why premades seem to change. We already know that premades are programmed notably differently, as Sims straight out of CAS behave measurably different to premades even if given the exact same traits. My theory is that, when copying a premade, or saving a premade to the gallery or tray or whatever, it loses bits of this programming. So as bits and pieces of their coding is lost, their behaviour changes. Thus we end up with anomalies like my Morgyn turning into a birch, and Sims suddenly changing which Sims they’ll pair off with. My Morgyn may have also busted because I directly played Ezio first, and the introduction of a copy of Morgyn’s scripting caused the game to break the second one for inability to run both at once. Theoretically, as I recreated all of the premades I put into my family save, Morgyn should behave appropriately there.

This is just the hypothesis I came to after several years of playing premade Sims and watching them change and evolve over time as I copied and saved them to my library and such.

He bit me.

Come to think of it, I’m not sure what I expected. I mean, vampires drink blood and all of that, and I guess he didn’t have enough plasma fruit on-hand or something. Well, I learnt my lesson and started keeping plasma fruit in easy reach of him somewhere.

He felt really bad about it, but I think he was more worried about it than I was. It just made me a little dizzy and really tired, that’s all. I’m just going to be glad he didn’t bite one of the kids. If he’d bit my kids I might’ve had to slap him at least.

Fortunately, since I don’t work a regular 9-5, it was easy enough to just go take a nap. The world wasn’t going to implode because I needed a few hours to recover my energy after a vampire sapped me.

I’m glad Cynemaer never had the opportunity to incidentally do that to someone. No wonder father wasn’t super keen on having baby vampires hanging around a bunch of human spellcasters.

Seems like a recipe for disaster to me.

Since the game doesn’t calculate more complex family relations, she gets stranger-danger from Gabriel and Hilda. When she ages up, that means romance options will be there. Sigh.

Speaking of Cynemaer, he came to visit while I was sleeping and helped take care of Kristyn. I was glad for that, since he’s also Kristyn’s cousin and she isn’t afraid of him like she is the kids. I do feel a little bad that he finally found time to come by (he’s been helping Stella teach some of the youngsters in Glimmerbrook how to use their magic-though he doesn’t have magic himself, so that’s weird), and I was asleep, and incidentally stuck him with a toddler.

At least Kristyn’s a well-behaved toddler. Actually, she’s better behaved than a lot of kids her age. Not better than me, but definitely better behaved than Gabriel was. He’d get hungry or tired and immediately try to throw a fit for a while there.

Because screaming about it will help solve it? Toddlers and their strange reasoning skills.

Fortunately, Gabriel can at least help with a few things, like getting Kristyn tucked into bed and gone to sleep, even if he can’t do certain other things with her.

He’s still trying to help, and I appreciate that a lot. It’s been quite a bit of work keeping up with her, and I’ve figured it’s probably best that Avery and I don’t have more children. I think I’m getting too old for this mom gig. And I’m not even this child’s mom!

Crazy to think about. I don’t feel like I’m getting older, but I’m certainly not a spring chicken anymore.

This is the Ezio-Morgyn. I forgot to turn the hair back grey at first lol

Dad and auncle Morgyn spend a lot of time in the gym downstairs, playing basketball. For some reason, everyone always loves the basketball court. I suppose that’s why we’ve always had one, ever since dad put one in when we were teenagers. It was a great idea, I have to give him that.

I hear the inability to control your weight is something that kind of runs in the family. Dad never seemed to have a lot of trouble with it, but he’s always been a really big guy in general. I’m fairly sure like half of his size is pure muscle. (If that’s not intimidating I don’t know what is.) Auncle Morgyn on the other hand is notably more slender and I could see weight being a problem.

It doesn’t help that our family has a universal soft spot for refined carbohydrates smothered in cheese sauce.

Some time after he became a teen, Cassandra’s little brother Alexander started coming by a lot. It’s nice to see that the siblings are at least staying in contact with one another. (I haven’t heard from or seen either of her parents since she moved in.) He and the kids get along too, but he’s a bit of a shy person and seems to keep to himself. But he spends a good deal of time talking to his sister.

I’m glad he feels confident enough in coming over to talk to her. I’d never say he couldn’t see her, for sure, as I understand what it is to rely on your family members. I probably rely on mine a little too much.

Kristyn aged up into child, and seems to take after auncle Morgyn a good deal. I guess she may end up Morgyn’s twin the way Bryn, Freya and I are dad’s. Hmm, well I guess Freya looks a little more like father than Bryn and I do. Not that Bryn would look like father anyway, but I don’t remember seeing a lot of her father in her anyway.

Well, if usual trends hold, Kristyn will be a heartbreaker, and we’ll have to beat off the suitors with a stick.

Bryn came over to visit, much to my joy, and spent some time talking to Diaval. He didn’t really seem to remember her, which I thought was somewhat sad.

It’s so weird sometimes to have dad in the kitchen cooking like he used to when we were kids. Sometimes I have to stop and look around, and just take in how many things have changed, and yet how many things are the same.

Freya also came by, and spent some time talking to Gabriel. Something about a robot invasion. Gabriel seemed less than impressed by the story, but I overheard it and wondered why it hadn’t been made into a children’s storybook. I could imagine toddler Gabriel finding that story rather interesting.

“Mostly because I haven’t pitched it to father yet,” Freya said, smirking.

Ah. You know, father would write some pretty interesting children’s books…

Kristyn seems to adore Gabriel. Gabriel on the other hand, now that she can care for herself better, doesn’t seem to notice her as much. It’s almost sad to watch, but he’s at least not unkind to her when they do interact.

Cassandra’s getting very good at violin, and I suspect, given long enough, she’ll start licensing songs too. We sure have a wide array of creatives in this family, huh?
